March President’s Message and News

President’s Message

Fourth of July Loppet
No this was not in the Klondike. Pictured are Jen and Karen at the Hot Food area at the intersection of Twister Klister and upper Skywalker and Geoff bringing supplies to the outpost. Remember the two evenings of downpour prior to Valentine’s Day? That resulted in 2 to 4 inches of good snow but washed away attendance except for one hardy man who said he would bring his friends next time. All was not lost. A hardy group of volunteers met at O’Shays Pub and commiserated with beer and grub. Extra food was donated to St. Vincent’s Help Center.

Pray for Snow
A group of us are going to Rossland, BC on Tuesday through Thursday for a ski and snowshoe adventure. And, the Winthrop trip the first weekend in Feb. was a great trip.

April 5 Meeting, 7:00 Avondale
This will be the last club meeting for the winter season, but don’t despair this will be the planning meeting for spring, summer and fall activities. Bring a favorite hike, bike ride, float trip, etc to share. There was good response to last year’s summer garden tour and the annual cider press. Weekend activities are preferred and usually run two times a month avoiding holiday weekends.

See you soon,

Jim
