President’s Message Feb 2017
The snow keeps coming…….This is the best winter in quite a few years. While some are adding more time to their full spectrum lights to combat the doldrums, many of us who have wanted a good outdoor ski and snowshoe season are jubilant. To keep the party going the Panhandle Nordic Club has a full slate of fun things to do until the March 7th meeting.
Here’s the schedule.
Tuesday, Feb 7–Panhandle Nordic Club Meeting at Avondale Golf Course–7:00 pm Dinner/Social hour at 6 pm at the club restaurant. Program at 7:00 by Diana Roberts, WSU Extension Services. She will have a picture presentation and talk on the benefits of weed management and forest health. Diana started the organization Friends of the Bluff which manages a 500 acre park from the South Hill down to Highway 195. This area is being maintained through natural plantings and biological weed management since it is especially prone to fire.
Details of upcoming events will be outlined at Feb. club meetingSunday, Feb 5 Pre-Super Bowl Ski (lessons too) and Snowshoe at Avondale Golf Course at 10:30—1:00. Burn off some calories before gorging on fattening food for the Big Game. Stop in at the restaurant for breakfast/lunch, hot chocolate or libation.
